LIT

Memphis' Bookstore Loving Its Town

As part of our anniversary all-day shindig on October 3, The Booksellers at Laurelwood is thrilled to launch our LIT campaign. LIT is our way of giving back, and to sending a heartfelt thanks to the community that has kept us thriving for 30 years. Every month on the 30th (and February 28), we will announce the next month’s bookish charitable project to benefit a variety of different organizations that make Memphis great. We hope you will not only help us spread the word, but come out to be a part of the celebration as well!

Current Project:
For the November portion of our year-long LIT campaign, we are thrilled to partner with Read20 Book Patrol and the Junior League of Memphis for an extra-special book drive November 6 through December 31, the community is invited to participate by purchasing books to donate to the Read20 Book Patrol at the Booksellers at Laurelwood. Customers will receive a 20% discount on all titles they buy for the book drive!

Read20 Book Patrol is an initiative by the Junior League of Memphis to encourage reading and build positive relationships with law enforcement.  As part of the project, Junior League members collect elementary and middle school books for law enforcement to distribute to Memphis children while encouraging them to read at least 20 additional minutes per day. In addition to encouraging literacy, Read20 endeavors to build relationships between law enforcement and community members.
